Backend Developer

Overview

One of Germany's largest online cosmetics retailers. The online shop's catalog includes over 850 worldwide brands and 55k products in the categories of perfume, skincare, make-up, hair care, natural cosmetics, and accessories, with prices ranging from drugstore to premium. The company employs over 700 people across three locations: its headquarters in Berlin, its logistics center in Halle, and its concept shop in Berlin-Mitte. In addition to the United States, the company has offices in Austria and Poland.

Your Tasks:

• Working in a cross-functional team developing new features in the shop
• Working on the process of cloud optimization by selecting, provisioning, and right-sizing the resources on specific AWS cloud features
• Collaborating with Product Owners, DevOps and other Engineering Teams
• Building and implementing scalable and reliable solutions
• Developing customer-facing features and keeping performance, scalability and testability
• Writing and executing unit tests

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in PHP, preferably Symfony and MVC frameworks
• Knowledge of one additional language preferably Node.JS (Python, Java as well)
• Experience with working in the AWS environment, especially in migration and optimization of the cloud (Google Cloud also possible)
• Very good English skills
• Experience with development of REST API’s and SML interfaces
• Familiarity with Continuous Integration and Deployment
• Professional experience in e-commerce area would be a plus
